The Datacenter & Platforms unit is currently recruiting a system engineer to be a part of a team that manage, develop and operate infrastructure services in our central environments.

The system engineer provides professional operations and engineering practices, delivers scalable infrastructure for efficient consumption in a hybrid environment, combining systems knowledge, monitoring expertise, and operations competence with programming/scripting skills to automate and simplify our current IT landscape and the future growth of digital IKEA.


Too be successful you have proven advanced training in information technology, computer science or equivalent experience. You have also experience of working with internal or external clients/customers. You have experience in designing and implementing resilient, highly available and automated infrastructure platforms.

We believe that you have knowledge in the following areas:

• Proven knowledge and experience from Ansible/Ansible Tower
• RedHat Satellite/Insight
• Python, Bash and PowerShell scripting experience
• Experience working with a remote and globally distributed team.
• Good knowledge of working in product-oriented development teams together with agile practices.

The passion about technology and new technology innovations keeps you learning and curious. The motivation of how technology can be used to automate and improve activities will energize you to work both independently and interdependently across functions.

We believe that you have experience in working in an ever-changing large-scale IT landscape with delivery models such as IaaS and PaaS. We also believe that you have experience working with agile frameworks and methodologies.

As part of our change journey, we see that technologies such as hybrid cloud automation and terraforming will be more and more important to us so experience within these areas is considered a merit. We also see that knowledge of other Linux operating systems than RedHat is also good to have as well as of non-Linux operating systems.


• Be the technical resource in your area of responsibility and support current and future business within Digital IKEA.

• Deliver infrastructure through automation and with self-service capabilities for efficiency, availability and usability.

• Do continuous improvements and innovation within this area.

• Develop and secure our test and production environments.

• Participate in the implementation of new technologies and infrastructure projects.

• Develop and maintain the right toolsets required for running services.

• Apply and adhere to the digital engineering best practices with an agile development approach.


We are a small team of around 8 people. We are autonomous, self-organizing and self-sufficient in many ways, which means part of our daily work is to define how we get things done together as a team.

The role is based in Helsingborg Sweden and you will report to Engineering Manager
